BURCHFIELD MOVIE THEATRE Thursday, February 4th, 2010 Afterschool Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs The Movie will be shown directly after school on Thursday, February 4th. The cost will be $2.00 per student. Each child will receive a juice and a bag of popcorn. No other snacks will be sold. Please remember to send in the permission slip and $2.00 (no refunds will be issued) CHILDREN MUST BE PICKED UP AT THE BACK ENTRANCE TO SCHOOL NO LATER THAN 5:30. Thank You!! GIRLS ON THE RUN AT BURCHFIELD A program that combines learning about self respect and physical fitness for your daughter? Starting in March Burchfield will be offering Girls on the Run (3rd-5th grades) twice per week after school. To learn more about this program....... BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION Good news! Burchfield has subscribed to a fun, new reading program that you and your child can access from home! Scholastic BookFlix is an online literacy resource that pairs classic video storybooks from Weston Woods with related nonfiction eBooks from Scholastic to build a love of reading and learning. This engaging resource for children in grades PreK-3 will help early readers develop and practice essential reading skills and introduces students to a world of knowledge and exploration. Study Island is a web-based program for 2nd and 3rd grade students that is designed to provide instruction, practice, and assessments to help students improve and excel in the areas of reading and math. It is aligned with the Pennsylvania State Standards and is designed to be used in the classroom and at home. |
